PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE REGARDING BERNARD JORDAAN’S PASSING

  • by

Members of the Board of Management of the Mississauga 55 Plus Cari-Can Group and Members, we have received news of the passing of Bernard Jordaan who served as President of the Mississauga Seniors Council for many years, and who, up to the time of his untimely passing held the title of Past President of the organization. Bernard played a key role in advocating for Seniors at all levels of government. He was dedicated to the cause. He was fearless and tireless in his pursuit of having the authorities recognize and address the unique needs of Seniors. As we do know, Bernard and his wife, who was called home to be with the Lord only a few months ago, were always in attendance at all of our functions and events. They were a fabulous dancing couple and a sight to behold on the dance floor. At this time of grief, sorrow, sadness and mourning, I do on behalf of the organization, my family and myself do offer our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Bernard’s entire family circle, and to the Officers and members of the Mississauga Seniors Council who served with him. May the soul of the departed brother rest in peace and the eternal light shine upon him. In closing I end with this poem written by Ellen Brentheman….. Don’t think of him as gone away His journey just begun Life holds so many facets This earth is only one Just think of him as resting From sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort Where there are no days and years Think how he may be wishing that we could know today How nothing but our sadness can really pass away And think of him as living in the hearts of those he loved, for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much. Rest in peace Orlander R. Marshall President —
