Greetings to all:
On behalf of the Members of the Board of Management of the Mississauga 55+ Cari-Can Group, Members and myself, I do offer congratulations and best wishes to our Jamaican Members on the occasion of the celebration of Jamaican Independence. Jamaica gained its independence from the United Kingdom on August 6, 1962.
As persons of Caribbean heritage, we have not forgotten and will not forget our roots. As a Caribbean people we celebrate and recognize the achievements and accomplishments of the countries of our birth.
Many of us return to our our Island homes whenever possible, to relax, reminisce, and to visit with family and friends. We all do miss these visits due to the global pandemic. As the occasion is celebrated, let us follow the established protocols.
God’s blessings and guidance be upon Jamaica and all its peoples.
